We are seeking an experienced Head of Finance to lead financial management for a single-family office based in London. This senior role combines strong technical accounting expertise with commercial insight and close collaboration with operations and commercial teams.
The successful candidate will oversee financial reporting, tax compliance (UK and EU), audit processes, and external advisers, while ensuring robust controls and clear communication of financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
Expectations
Responsibilities of the Head of Finance for single-family office in London, include:
- Cooperate with operations and commercial teams and provide required financial data for analysis, performance measurement and business purposes.
- Liaise with operations and commercial teams and timely flag any accounting and financial risks.
- Ensure that VAT, corporation tax and other tax compliance is accurate and met in a timely manner.
- Adhere by all legal and regulatory requirements (in Greece and UK).
- Liaise and monitor the work of external service providers as appropriate (tax consultants, third party management companies etc).
- Produce monthly management accounts and reporting packages (profit & loss, balance sheet & KPIs) for distribution to management.
- Provide input and actively engage for the maintenance of the accounting database of the business (Business Central by Microsoft).
- Prepare annual statutory financial statements.
- Manage the year end audit and build a good working relationship with external auditors.
- Understanding of the companies’ processes and procedures and improving information flows and interface to accounting where necessary.
- Understanding new business activities and suggesting workflows and financial controls as necessary.
- Liaising and ensuring smooth cooperation with the company’s operational team.
- Be able to communicate financial information to the management and non-financial people in a clear and concise manner.
Essential Qualities & Experience
- Degree educated and ideally part-qualified (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with 10–15 years’ experience, including 3–5 years in a senior finance role.
- Strong technical accounting expertise (including IFRS), with hands-on experience in accounting processes and tax compliance.
- Experience within a family office or managing investment/real estate portfolios; strong systems skills (accounting software, Excel, MS Office).
- Highly organised and analytical, with a structured, proactive approach and strong attention to detail.
- Confident communicator, able to work independently, collaborate across diverse teams, and present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
